Neptune in Aries transit, 2026 to 2039: when ideals start moving

The Neptune in Aries transit runs from 2026 to 2039 and brings dreams and ideals into the sign of action. Astrologers read these years as a time when beliefs turn into personal causes, and when people ask what they would actually stand up for.

Neptune takes about 13 to 14 years to cross a sign, so it colors the background for a long time. This page covers the transit, the sky we are all living under now. The page on Neptune in Aries covers the birth chart placement, which belongs only to people born in these years. If you were born before 2025, your natal Neptune sits elsewhere, and this page is the one that applies to you.

Neptune in Aries dates

Neptune crossed into Aries in two steps, and it will leave in two steps.

Date	What happens
March 31, 2025	Neptune first enters Aries
October 23, 2025	Neptune backs up into Pisces
January 27, 2026	Neptune returns to Aries for the long stay
May 23, 2038	Neptune first leaves Aries
March 24, 2039	Neptune makes its final exit

It last moved through Aries from about 1861 to 1875. Each full circle takes about 165 years, so nobody alive has lived through this transit before.

A change of mood after Pisces

Neptune spent about 2012 to 2026 in Pisces, the sign it rules in modern astrology. There it worked softly, through mood, empathy and blurred edges. Aries works another way. It is a cardinal fire sign ruled by Mars, and it starts things fast.

So the tone shifts from drifting to doing. A longing for a better world looks for a first step. Vague spiritual interest gives way to a question of what you will do on Monday. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, so many astrologers also read this transit as the start of a new long cycle of beliefs.

The meeting with Saturn at 0 Aries

Neptune’s stay opened with a rare event. In February 2026, Saturn met Neptune near 0 degrees Aries, the first point of the zodiac. The Saturn conjunct Neptune aspect pairs the planet of limits with the planet of dreams. It also formed in 1917, 1952 to 1953, and 1989.

Astrologers read that meeting as ideals being tested against facts. As a theme, it asks which dreams can survive contact with a budget and a calendar. Saturn in Aries continues that test until April 2028.

Themes to watch

Neptune dissolves borders and raises ideals, and Aries cares about the self, courage and first moves. Together they raise a set of questions rather than a forecast.

• Heroes and causes. Who do we admire, and what makes someone worth following? Neptune tends to add a glow that fades on a closer look.
• Identity. Aries asks “who am I?” and Neptune answers with something fluid. People may feel freer to redefine themselves.
• Courage and sacrifice. Giving something up for a belief comes up as a theme, in big ways and small.
• Anger and compassion. Mars rules Aries, and Neptune softens what it touches. Those two can blend into anger on someone else’s behalf.

These are themes only. This page makes no predictions about world events, and no sky pattern can tell you how a society will behave.

What it can stir in your own life

Personally, this transit often shows up as a new longing. You may feel tired of waiting and want to do the thing you have only dreamed about. A nurse thinks about opening a clinic of her own. A shy writer starts sending pages out.

Love can take on a heroic glow during a strong Neptune contact. You may idealize someone bold, or feel a need to rescue a person who has not asked. Give new attachments time, and watch what people do over several months.

At work, a job may stop feeling meaningful, and you may want a mission. That is worth listening to. Before you resign, test the idea at small scale with a side project or a weekend course. For a big money decision, talk to a qualified adviser.

Which charts feel it most

Neptune moves about two degrees a year, and it stays near each degree for a long time. It starts from 0 degrees, so early degrees feel it first.

Your planet in	Aspect from Neptune	How it may feel
Aries	Conjunction	Your self-image goes soft, and old goals lose their pull
Libra	Opposition	Partners seem to change, or you see them more clearly
Cancer	Square	Home and family questions turn hazy
Capricorn	Square	Career plans blur, and titles matter less

The other cardinal signs share this tension with Aries. Leo and Sagittarius get a smoother trine, while Gemini and Aquarius get a sextile. These often feel like inspiration that arrives without much effort.

Your Sun sign alone won’t tell you much. Check the degrees of your planets in the birth chart calculator. Then find the house that holds Aries in your chart, since Neptune will stay there for most of this period. Houses need an exact birth time, and the unknown birth time guide explains what you can read without one.

The hard side of this transit

Neptune fogs things up, and Aries acts before the fog lifts. That mix can lead to rash faith in a person or a plan. A leader in any field can look like a savior for a while. A good feeling can pass for a good reason.

Burnout is the other risk to watch. Fighting for a cause without rest wears people down. If you notice exhaustion, drifting or heavier use of alcohol to cope, take it seriously and speak to a doctor. A transit can name a theme, and a professional can help with the rest.

Staying grounded for 13 years

• Sleep on any big decision that came with a rush of certainty.
• Ask for facts about a cause or a person before you commit money or time.
• Turn one ideal into one small action you repeat weekly.
• Keep one friend who will tell you when you are being carried away.
• Make time for art, music or prayer, so Neptune has a healthy outlet.
